How the elevators are being modernised

The advantages of a complete lift replacement are mainly:
  • Possibility to change parameters:
    • Replacement of the technology with a more efficient one (reduction of operating costs)
    • Increasing the size of the elevator car and thus the operating capacity
    • Increase in lift speed
    • Reduction of the noise level of the whole equipment
  • All the work is done at once (i.e. in one mess and one lift shutdown)
  • Significant reduction in servicing costs due to a significant reduction in lift failure rates
  • Full warranty on the entire installation
However, the effort of all of us at Výtahy Praha ČR is always to first find out the actual needs and financial possibilities of the customer, and then to design a solution that will be acceptable to the customer and that will make his lift comply with all applicable standards and regulations.
That is why we do not offer any standard type price list, but we work on all projects with an individual approach according to the customer's needs.
The first step must always be to find out in detail the current condition of your lift. In this respect, it is a good idea to have the results from the Inspection Report. All deficiencies and operational risks are listed in the report of this inspection report. Not every lift shows the same safety risks. For example, some older lifts may have already undergone partial refurbishment in the past.
Also lifts built e.g. in the 1990s may no longer show all the high risks. In these cases, it is possible to carry out risk removal in stages. It is therefore important to always base the results on the current condition.
However, the most common way of removing risks on old lifts is nowadays to completely replace the entire installation.

AN OVERVIEW OF SIGNIFICANT CHANGES TO LIFTS,

which may only be carried out on the basis of a building permit or a building notification pursuant to Act No. 183/2006 Coll. (Building Act)
SUBSTANTIAL CHANGES TO ELEVATIONS (breakdown and designation of changes according to CSN 274011) BUILDING PERMIT (§ 115 of Act No. 183/2006 Coll.)
4.1. a) Changes to the elevator equipment, where the technical parameters are changed:
  • Increase in the ELEVATOR HEIGHT or NUMBER OF STATIONS associated with the structural modification of the shaft affecting the supporting structure or the appearance of the building.
  • Yes
4.1. c) Changes to elevator parts:
  • Alteration of ELEVATOR SHAFT DOORS when associated with an enlargement of the building opening where the elevator shaft face where they are anchored is a load-bearing part of the structure.
  • Yes
  • REPLACEMENT OF THE ELEVATOR HYDRAULIC VALVE where the new design (location) requires interference with the supporting structure of the building.
  • Yes
4.1. d) Modifications to the structural portion of the elevator or elevator spaces:
  • ELEVATOR ROOM dimensions shall be modifiedor shifted if the elevator travel is increased and there is potential interference with the structure's supporting structure or the appearance of the building.
  • Yes
  • Adjustment of the dimensions of the ELEVATOR BOX SPACE or its displacement in case of an increase in the lift stroke and possible interference with the load-bearing structures of the building or the appearance of the building.
